2020 Ford Ranger, the small with the large capacities

The Ford Ranger is a true icon in its category. Its work capacities, added to its smaller dimensions, make it a van that attracts adventure seekers as well as workers. Disappeared from the Canadian market for a few years, it has come back in force and has enjoyed great success ever since. For 2020, the small truck equipped with the 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine does not undergo a radical change but continues to offer an unmatched work-pleasure balance.

Three versions

The Ford Ranger is offered with a single engine, the 4-cylinder Ecoboost engine developing 270 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. All engines are paired with a 10-speed automatic gearbox developed for Ford, and all-wheel drive is standard. But that mechanic alone doesn't stop the Ford Ranger from offering a variety of options. Thus, it is provided with a SuperCab or Supercrew cabin, as desired, and has three variations of finish: the basic XL version, the more equipped XLT version, and the high-end Lariat version.

A working tool

The Ford Ranger may have a youthful first look, and a dynamic silhouette, it is still designed for work. It offers the best torque in the category for a gasoline engine, can tow up to 7,500 pounds depending on the version, and provides a maximum load of 1,650 pounds. To ensure greater strength, the bumpers are mounted on steel frames. And the suspensions, independent at the front, are more like parabolic blades at the rear, reducing the weight but maximizing the resistance to road impact.

For all roads

The 2020 Ford Ranger comes standard with all-wheel drive that can be turned off on the fly with a simple rotation of a wheel in the center console. It is also offered with the optional FX4 package designed for off-road use, which adds a front skid plate, monotube shock absorbers and an electronically locked rear differential. For quieter family rides, the 2020 Ford Ranger ranks among the safest in its category, offering, in particular, the set of Ford CoPilot360 on-board electronic systems, a B&O audio system and full accounting with smartphones with Apple Car Play and Android Auto.
